Being a wife and a mother of three small girls makes life busy for me.  I often get so caught up in trying to be the best mom, keeping a perfect house, and having the chores all done that I struggle to find any time to sit down, be still before God, and acknowledge him as Lord of my life.

When I struggle to fulfill these roles in my strength, I am encouraged by 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 which says, "But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.'  Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me.  For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamaties.  For when I am weak, then I am strong."

God enables me to do all I need to do if I depend on his power and strength, not my own.  I am so thankful that Lamentations 3:22-23 tells us, "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases.  His mercies never come to and end; they are new every morning.  Great is your faithfulness."

Having moved to TN in 1988, my wife Cindy and I have been members at Westwood Baptist for many years now. What a joy and privilege it has been over the years to watch the lives of the families of Westwood being transformed as they serve our Lord Jesus Christ. It has been and continues to be a great journey for me and my family. Two of my three children were saved while growing up at Westwood.

It encourages me daily as I witness the boldness and faithfulness of my brothers and sisters in Christ. In a small church there are always opportunities to serve. With service, comes spiritual growth.

As I age, I find myself reflecting on all that has taken place but must remind myself as Paul did in Acts 20:24 that we need to finish the race. HE has strengthened us all for the task. (Isaiah 40:31)

Acts 20:24 - However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.

Isaiah 40:31 - but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

I have been blessed to be a member of Westwood Baptist Church for 20 years now. God has truly blessed me with good Christian friends that are like family at Westwood.
As a wife, a mother and a grandmother I often ask God for guidance for all types of problems that come occur in my life. I have had to learn to trust Him more each day for His answers to my needs instead of my wants.

In Jeremiah 29:11 it says," For I know the plans I have for you...plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." I have to have faith that God knows better than me as to what I need. So when I feel overwhelmed or am worried about a situation I have to step back and remember that God is in control. I need to stop and hear God saying "Trust me".

It is amazing what God does with those worries that I have. When I let my faith take over, He provides answers I would have never thought were possible. I pray daily for God's way, not my way and He is faithful to provide.

My family moved to Murfreesboro in 2004. We consider ourselves to be
very fortunate to have found Westwood. We have made so many friends
that have become our family. It is comforting to know that God will
always keep us in His family. John 10:27-30 says, My sheep hear my
voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them
eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man
pluck them out of my hand. My father, which gave them me, is greater
than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
I and my Father are one.

I have had the privilege to teach Bible Drill to 4th - 6th grade
since the fall of 2004. It is so encouraging to see these young
children be so excited about learning the word of God. They are a
great joy and I love watching them grow in Christ. Matthew 18:3
Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little
children, ye shall not enter the kingdom of heaven.

I would encourage you to come and see God at work in the lives of
everyone here. You will be blessed for it.
