Polity

How are we governed?

Our form of Church Polity is Congregational. What this simply means is that we are governed by the members of the church. The Pastors do not make the final decision. The deacons do not make the final decision. No boards or committees make the final decision. Two or three families do not make the final decision. The local church members make the most important decisions by voting in regularly and specially called business meetings.

While certain responsibilities are given to pastors, deacons, boards, and committees, the final arbiter is the vote of local church under the direction of the Holy Spirit and authority of Jesus Christ.
